Summink Deeper

When nature takes ya

Chews you up

And breaks ya

Hard to satiate ya

World with a healing

Because everything

You’re feeling

Comes straight from

The peeling

Of your skin, the soil

The greenling

Ever so revealing

But it’s meant to be

Start realising, babe

That you’re naked

Nothing’s sacred

Whatever you hold dear

They will take it

Soon as nature gets a sniff

She will break it

Then we’re back

To the chewing thing

And you hate it

Still you know

Right from wrong

You know

Poem from song

You know slimline

From long

Heart shaped

From oblong

You know all these facts

All these figures

Get the point

So much quicker

Craft your own

So much slicker

But it’s the world

Without a clue

Nothing wrong with you

Running wrong crews

Grasping neons

Over muted blues

In an environment

That only cares about

New shoes

Just go softly, softly…

Get those fucking hands

Off me

Caress that tender off beat

Or ground it down

Like coffee

Batter it, and properly

Don’t let your dreams

Get away with this

Collect a thousand donations

To break a wish

Dunno who’s saving this

Mess made but in that filth

There’s a crazy bliss

That split personality

Comes rearing some more

One air force in the flat

One stiletto out the door

They say the world’s your oyster

But you ain’t deep

Like ocean floor

Intelligent, clever

So beautiful, so wise

An old soul drifting through the city

Blue tracksuit, red eyes

So many talents

So many lies

Such invincibility

That crumbles to death

Come midnight

The rest of them are pond skaters

But you and I are deep sea fish

There’s depths to you

I ain’t seen for ages

And them parts I do miss

Even in your shallow waters

The others couldn’t swim like this

Because the rest of them are pond skaters

And we were deep sea fish

Remember that?

Easy to slip back

Into the haze of days

That lacked

But this week’s been fat

Hectic and packed

It’s just when everyone stood

You stayed sat

So why you expecting glory?

Why you hoping for healing?

You’re just on that plump arse

Not kneeling

If everyone’s a god

Then no one is

Humming in prayer

With lo fi fizz

Come on, belt it

Master worship

You only expand

When you’re learning

The world keeps turning

Nothing to see here

Strictly eyes to the front

Minute you spin rear

You only orient anterior oppositional

Wanting access to everything

Is fictional

No need to hustle

No need to toot

No need to muddle

No need to root

Something’s on its way

Can you feel it too?

In our hatreds

So easy to lose nature’s boon

Maybe you need taking

Need to be chewed

Need a remodel

To break on through

You’ll lay on that kerb

Spit drenching you

And realise everything you wanted

To principal’s already the student

That knew.
